Energy Efficiency At Its Best

With today’s exponentially growing talk about the environmental damages people are putting on this world, more and more people are turning to being energy efficient. Not only does being energy efficient help us to save money by using less electricity and power, it also helps out the environment by using less supplies and makes the world a greener and safer place for us to live in. There are a lot of products out there that claim to help you save time and money while helping out the environment, but I have found one that surpasses them all. This product is called Earth 4 Energy.

The genius behind this is Michael Harvey. He has created this e-book of 73 pages that lists in detail simple and affordable ways for the average person to create and supply their own energy. He explains in a simple, but very effective way how to construct windmills, solar panels, and some other energy producing items. To make things easy for those visual learners out there, he has tons of visual aids to supplement the steps to make renewable energy a reality for everyone.

Mr. Michael Harvey is extremely passionate and sincere about what he is doing, and understands what he is talking about. You can see that his book is a complete guide to all of those do-it-yourselfers out there and is not just trying to make a quick buck off people. He really cares about what he does. You will save tons of money by becoming energy efficient and be able to do things yourself with ease.

Go Green With Energy Efficient Kitchen Appliances

Using environmentally friendly cleaning products, recycling and using biodegradable bin liners are just a few ways families are going green in the kitchen. However one of the most important, and significant changes many households are making is buying and using energy efficient kitchen appliances.

For many families, the kitchen is the room in the house where the most energy is consumed. Refrigerators, cookers, ovens, dishwashers and other kitchen appliances can account for nearly 40% of the total energy consumed in some homes. Buying energy efficient appliances, and changing the way kitchen appliances are used on a daily basis can easily make the kitchen a greener place.

Once you make the decision to buy kitchen appliances, for your new eco-friendly kitchen, it’s important that you consider the size of the kitchen appliances. Many families buy oversized kitchen appliances that they don’t need and end up wasting energy in the process. Larger kitchen appliances with lots of features can be very tempting. However if you have a small family, it’s best to buy energy efficient kitchen appliances that will fit your family’s needs, rather than opting for larger models. You’ll save space, money and you’ll be helping to save the environment too.

Save Money on Electric Bills by Making Your Own Solar Power for the Home

In this age of rising electric bills everyone is feeling the pinch. Unfortunately, too many people think that rising utility cost is just a fact of life that can not be changed. Yet, you can save money on electric bills by making your own solar power for the home. Solar power used to be an expensive option, but not anymore. More and more people are installing their own solar power and saving money on their electric bills or cutting out the bill entirely.

The central component of making solar power for the home is the solar panels themselves. You can make the solar panels with a few simple components or purchase a kit, either option will save you hundreds over the cost of pre-made panels. The basic materials used in a solar panel are plywood, glass, copper wire, silicone, UV protectors, and of course, the solar cells.

Solar cells are what turn light into electricity, thus saving you money from not using the grid power. This is why the cells are the most important part of creating solar power for the home. While solar panels are available for purchase, they are often pricey and the upfront costs alone may negate any potential energy savings for years to come. By making your own panels in order to provide solar power for the home, you can reduce the upfront costs and begin recouping the cost of your panels much sooner.

Recycleing Compact Disc’s is Something We Need to Think About!

Recycleyourdiscs.com said today that it will launch on Earth Day, April 22, a new division and campaign that is named The Compact Disc Recycling Center of America. This new center invites consumers and companies to mail in their unwanted CDs and DVDs for recycling. The campaign will promote the importance of recycling compact discs, provide a location to send them, and increase community awareness of related environmental issues caused by unwanted discs being placed in the trash. The Recycling Center’s website, www.recycleyourdiscs.com is designed to build a national network of registered members and supporters that pledge to recycle their disc waste.

“Each year over 30 billion CDs and DVDs are still being manufactured, while millions of unwanted, damaged and obsolete discs end up in landfills and incinerators every month.” States Marc Sullivan, founder of Recycleyourdisc.com. “It is important for those individuals or companies that use, sell, manufacture or promote compact discs to also responsibly promote how and where to recycle them.”

When compacts discs are placed in the trash, it is harmful to the environment. When discs are recycled properly, it will help stop unnecessary pollution, conserve natural resources, and slow global warming. The plastic used in compact discs can be recycled into other everyday items, including household products, building materials, and auto parts.

Recycled Paper Products – Facts About Recycling in the US

Millions of Americans recycle paper at home, work and school. This number keeps increasing as people become more aware of the importance of recycling and conservation. Recycling paper products conserves natural resources, reduces the need for land filling or incineration, saves energy and prevents pollution. According to the Paper Industry Association Council, 56% of the paper consumed is recovered for recycling. Included in this number, 48% of office paper is recovered for recycling, and 73% of newspaper is recovered. This translates to almost 360 pounds for every person in the country.

Recycled paper products include paperboard, tissue and paper towels, printing and writing paper, boxes, hydro-mulch, molded packaging, compost, kitty litter, and 1.5 million tons of construction products.

It is not just trees being saved by not using virgin wood pulp for products. The EPA states that recycling 1 ton of paper saves 1,000 gallons of water, 3 cubic yards of landfill space, 2 barrels of oil, and 4,100 kilowatt hours of electricity in addition to 17 mature trees. Recycled paper generates 74% less air pollution and uses 54% less water vs. making new paper. Overall, it uses only 60% of the energy it would take to make paper from virgin wood pulp.
